  • On-site
    • Hørsholm, Sjælland, Denmark
  • R&D

Job description

Be part of scaling a global platform used by millions. We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to help build and evolve our Booking & Payment platform as our customer base continues to grow. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning end-to-end solutions, designing reliable and robust systems, and collaborating across teams to deliver reliable, scalable services.

What you´ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for a complex Booking & Payment platform with more than 3 million users, with a strong focus on quality, performance, and scalability.

  • Take ownership of technical solutions end-to-end: from design beyond single components: analyze requirements, propose architectures that span multiple systems, and to align with dependencies owned by other teams.

  • Work hands-on in Node.js using JavaScript and TypeScript, contributing to architecture, implementation, code reviews, and technical decisions.

  • Work cross-functionally and cross-team: with Product, QA, and UI/UX on requirements and delivery; and on APIs, contracts, and integrations.

  • Share knowledge through mentoring, pairing, and clear technical communication.

Job requirements

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of owning backend work end-to-end in production systems: not only implementing tasks, but thinking through the whole solution (data, APIs, failure modes, rollout, and ongoing operation).

  • Demonstrated experience with system and solution architecture: breaking problems into services or major components, defining interfaces and ownership, and planning work that coordinates your team’s systems with those of other teams.

  • Strong commercial experience with server-side Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, including high-quality, maintainable, testable code and pragmatic trade-offs.

  • Solid understanding of architectural principles and backend fundamentals.

  • Pragmatic approach to testing and CI/CD.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to facilitate alignment with other engineering teams and explain technical choices to non-engineering partners.

Nice to have

  • Experience with payment platforms or e-commerce / in-person payment flows (how gateways, acquirers, and schemes fit together.

  • Familiarity with financial back-office concerns such as bookkeeping, reconciliation, settlements, or reporting.

  • Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS and/or Azure and designing or operating services on them.
