Job description

We offer an exciting opportunity in our R&D hardware team. At Trackman we are growing, as we are constantly striving to develop, produce and deploy our market leading sport tracking solutions within golf, baseball, football and more. Our innovative products are based on multi-sensor technology including radar and vision-based sensors to measure what enables sports enthusiasts to improve their game. We’re therefore looking for a highly motivated Optics Engineer for the development of the next generation of our products.

Whether you're an experienced Optics Engineer or a recent graduate, we encourage you to apply! You will become the fourth member of Trackman’s Optics Team, including the team lead. We are an engaged team with strong backgrounds from both academia and industry, who enjoy working on demanding, real‑world optical challenges. You will have a close working relationship with our talented Mechanics & Electronics Engineers in R&D Hardware, Tracking software team, as well as colleagues from our in-house production, and supply chain.  

 

What will you be doing? 

  • Optics Design & Innovation 
    Define and specify camera optics, illumination optics, optical filters, protective windows, coatings, and sensors to meet tracking, safety, and environmental requirements across product generations. Conduct optics feasibility studies investigating new technologies.  

  • Optical Verification, Testing & Calibration 
    Plan and execute optical verification and production tests supported by using python or similar programming tools; troubleshoot optics, illumination, and calibration issues.  

  • Supplier Collaboration  
    Work with optics vendors to develop tailored optical solutions, ensuring technical specifications align with product needs. 

  • Production & Quality Support 
    Develop optical assembly concepts, active alignment, calibration methods, and incoming/outgoing inspections; support ramp‑up, process stability, and yield together with manufacturing and suppliers.

Job requirements

What are we looking for? 

  • Preferably PhD and MSc in Optics, Physics, Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields/experience 

  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Infrared and visible optics, Camera sensors and Vision, Geometrical optics, Lens design, Illumination optics, Optical imaging systems, Optics alignment, Optical coating design 

  • Hands-on experience with optics lab equipment and test setups 

  • Experience with data analysis, simulation, and test tools using python or similar 

  • Experience with consumer electronics manufacturing and high-volume suppliers is a plus

We are located at DTU Science Park in Hørsholm. We take great pride in the state-of-art building we have designed! The office features bright meeting rooms, coffee areas to catch up with colleagues, a large testing arena with simulators available for employees and a fitness center, everything surrounded by a beautiful forest and respecting the environment. We made sure to utilize the newest technologies to be energy efficient and be mindful of ventilation and sound propagation.
