System Engineer

Are you familiar with the “tracer” used during golf broadcasts to show the direction and curvature of a golf shot? We are looking for a System Engineer who can manage our innovative broadcast technology at professional sports events in the US and around the world. This exciting opportunity requires a wide range of technical skills to ensure that our technology is delivered accurately and on time to millions of viewers worldwide. From radar and vision technology to computer networking and broadcast technology, this individual will need to wear many hats. The position will focus on our golf technology which is used on a weekly basis at PGA TOUR events. As we design new features and expand into other sports, this responsibility will include creating new systems and support structures to ensure that our technology is the best in the world. Job Duties

  • Manage technical operations and broadcast technology at professional golf tournaments
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to events for setup and operations purposes
  • Create testing procedures as well as test new features and software
  • Communicate effectively with the TrackMan broadcast team and PGA TOUR staff to ensure a proper setup both on course and in the TV compound
  • Provide T3 level support remotely and/or onsite (hardware, software, and network related issues)
  • Create processes that improve weekly operations and reduce support requirements
  • Work with the internal Product Owner to shape product enhancements and new features


Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical preferred)
  • Wide-ranging knowledge and interest in technical solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills (access, diagnose, and correct issues on the fly)
  • Strong computer/networking knowledge (A+, Net+, or similar)
  • Basic programming skills (HTML5, .NET preferred)
  • Broadcast experience a plus   

Personal Skills

  • Attention to detail a must - perfectionist tendencies is a plus
  • Strong problem solving skills a must
  • Good people skills
  • Performs well in stressful situations
  • Quick learner
  • Understands golf and golf etiquette
  • Okay with getting your hands dirty
