Job description

Join the team that developed the tools and graphics behind the premier TV Broadcast virtual golf graphics application used by the PGA Tour and several TV Broadcasters and that powers the industry leading Trackman golf simulator.  As a Technical and environmental artist, you'll help develop and use technologies and assets for the Unity engine and deliver polished and immersive natural environmental experiences. Relocation will not be necessary as we work as an effective remote team with existing team members based in the UK, mainland Europe and the USA.


TrackMan A/S is a fast-growing sports technology company that develops, manufactures and sells 3D ball flight measurement systems for a variety of sports verticals. Originally developed for golf, TrackMan now enjoys a market leader position in several sports disciplines in measuring and delivering real-time sports motion data.

Requirements

Primary responsibility is to work within Unity 2018 to create and build golf course environmental content for our suite of 3D applications, using our internal course design tools.  This requires a working knowledge of the Unity Terrain System, Planting Systems and will also involve working with our own in house developed tools for Unity.  The ideal candidate is someone who has an artistic eye and can create stunning outdoor environments inside Unity.

 

In addition to the primary responsibilities we are looking for a candidate who has an understanding of particle effects, shaders, textures, 3d modeling, lighting/lightmaps and animation where necessary for the Unity editor and can utilize this knowledge to make our end products even more visually appealing.  The  successful applicant will work with the Art and Engineering teams to make sure our applications achieve their visual and performance goals in a variety of applications.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience working in Unity PC/console game development or other unity based real time entertainment
  • Experience in 3d modelling using tools such as Maya/3ds Max
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating visual design and art skills ideally focusing on nature environments. (Please attach a URL of any online portfolios)

 Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in AAA environmental design 
  • Experience in collaborating and working with cross-functional and international teams
  • Unity scripting experience in  C# (optional js, c++, shader scripting)
  • Experience creating 3D visuals including; particles, lighting, atmospherics, post processing, and/or shaders where necessary
  • Unity experience creating tools, plugins, scripts, using editor debug, integrating additional libraries and external plugins
  • Knowledge and experience of the SpeedTree modeler
