Data Quality Manager – Baseball Operations

Job description

Trackman Baseball is seeking a proficient Data Quality Manager with experience using proven techniques and tools to measure, control, monitor and improve the quality of the data we deliver to our customers.  This position is a critical interface both internally and externally.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Develop the vision for an ever-evolving data quality improvement strategy that not only satisfies current needs but can be easily adapted to future needs as new sources of data input and requirements for data output are identified
  • Guide team members by offering support, advice and best practices recommendations
  • Development and reporting of quality metrics
  • Employ extreme attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to dynamic client environments and changing business, operations and technology priorities
  • Designing, deploying, and documenting data quality procedures and their outputs
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the New Product Development Process.
  • Represent the company externally in conversations with key customers and partners.
  • Planning, leadership and operational execution of organization's quality deployment and process improvement efforts.
  • Refine a methodology for assessing quality
  • Drive investigation, analysis and resolution of all quality issues reported by internal and external customers using a data driven approach

Requirements

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or business management with experience in a technically oriented environment
  • Strong management skills including planning, organizing for results, leading and evaluating people, and controlling projects for both effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of reliability and quality fundamentals, principles and methods.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills, an orientation to details, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions; a creative problem solver.
  • Proven ability to interact and influence cross-functional team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies and approaches.
  • Establish a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
  • Synthesize quality performance data for presentation to executive leadership
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word, Project, Adobe Acrobat, Minitab (or Other statistical software)
  • Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to cope with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Strong leadership, communication and teambuilding skills at all levels of levels of the organization
  • Data discovery & profiling
  • Data quality monitoring and reporting, including dashboards and scorecards
  • Six to Eight plus years of statistical analytics experience

Desired skills:

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve results
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization; including senior leadership/management
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization; including senior leadership/management
  • Experience creating or maintaining data quality dashboards or metrics
  • 4+ years of experience performing data defect analysis and remediation
  • 4+ years of experience producing data artifacts, evidence to demonstrate adherence
  • Experience working in a Big Data environment, dealing with large diverse data sets
  • Knowledgeable about industry data compliance strategies and practices, such as continuous integration, regression testing and versioning.
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work across multiple teams of varying levels of technical competence
